Tightening Program Library Introduction
A tightening program consists of a tightening strategy and its parameter values. A tightening program can be Global or Local.
A Local tightening program is valid for a single controller. A Global tightening program can be distributed to multiple controllers that subscribe to it. When a change is made to a Global tightening program, the change propagates to all controllers in ToolsTalk 2 which subscribe to the program.
For Global tightening programs, it is possible to create distribution aliases. A distribution alias is a program name and produces an additional instance of the same Global tightening program with the alias name, when distributed to a controller. It allows for several variations, such as, different positions or use cases, to be created from a single template. Each alias is distributed as its own program to controllers, while still being linked to the original Global template.
The Tightening program library manages the global tightening programs, their aliases, and the controllers that subscribe to specific Tightening programs.
Updates to subscribers are made within the ToolsTalk 2 application. All affected controllers will show the Push indicator
in the Line structure workspace.
ToolsTalk 2 can distinguish between a local and a global tightening program, although the controller itself has no knowledge of this. Therefore it is important to specify the action in ToolsTalk 2 if a tightening program is changed via either the controller GUI or the web GUI.
