Adding a Multi-tag Target
Using one single part target can create accuracy errors due to incorrect rotation measurements. The bolt positions are then only referenced in relation to one single part target.
If the single part target cannot be placed close enough to the bolt locations it can be necessary to use the Multi-tag Target function.
The physical placement of tags relative to bolt positions must always be the same.
The Multi-tag part target function results in a reference frame which is only based on the x. y, z positions of the part target tags.
The Multi-tag part target function requires having at least three unique tag IDs that are always visible to the ILS sensor during operation of the workpiece.
In the Setup mode, on the ILS Sensor page, on the Part Target tab, at the upper-left corner, select the ADD TARGET button.
A Target pop-up window opens.
In the Target window, enter a name for the part target.
The ID number will be automatically assigned.
In the Target type dropdown list, select Multi Target.
Select SAVE.
Mark the row for the Multi Target and select the ADD Tag button.
A Tag pop-up window opens.
Enter an Tag ID.
The Tag ID should be unique.
Repeat step 5 and 6 twice to add two more tags.
Select the RETEACH button to save the tags relative positions in ILG.
Verify that ILG has the correct tag coordinates.
If the coordinates are correct, a notification with the text "Teaching successful" will appear, as well as coordinates in the table.
