Upgrading ToolsControl
Upgrade ToolsControl brings up-to-date features and enhancements into operation. Upgrade ToolsControl is performed for single node or cluster servers through the ToolsControl Portal.
The upgrading processes for stand-alone and cluster configurations are the same.
To load the target software version: in the Software page, select Application, then select Upload New to open the Add new portal software window. Select BROWSE to locate the target file and select UPLOAD. The uploaded software version will be shown under the Inactive Software section within a few minutes.
To upgrade ToolsControl portal: locate the target application within the Inactive Software section, then select the Kebab icon (three vertical dots) at the end of the row. Select Set as active in the drop down list. The cluster nodes will activate the chosen application and restart.
The servers upgrade one by one to remain functioning of the cluster. When the last node finishes upgrading and restarts, the ToolsControl portal restarts accordingly. All tools, for less than a minute, will be disconnected during this period.
Repeat the upgrade process from the same node if the upgrade fails. To repeat the upgrading process will not impact the nodes that already contain the target software version.
Organize the upgrade process in a non-production time frame to avoid impact during the short discontinuous of the tools.
