Updating Controller Software through USB
Connect the USB flash drive to the controller: the installation wizard starts automatically.
If several software versions are available on the USB flash drive, a list with the different software upgrade files is displayed.
Select the software upgrade file to install and follow the instructions to finish the installation.

The USB flash drive needs to have a partition available and be formatted to work for Linux. Possible formats are for example FAT or NTFS.

Do not remove the USB device or disconnect the IAM until the upgrade is completed.
For synchronized tightening, manually restart all Sync Member controllers after upgrading to a new software version or downgrading from a new software version.
If the controller application fails to start repeatedly the controller will boot up in rescue mode. In rescue mode a new firmware can be installed. The rescue image is distributed with the software update and can be updated if a newer rescue image exists.

Do not power off the system during rescue image update. The system will reboot when starting the update.
