Creating a Workplace

  1. In the Setup mode, on the Workplaces page, select the + icon at the upper-left corner.
    A Workplace pop-up window opens.

  2. In the Workplace tab enter the workplace ID and the workplace name. Then, select the tools to be linked to the workplace, and the ILG Selection Method in the dropdown menu.

  3. In the Workpiece tab select the preferred options for the workpiece.

    • The Fixed Workpiece option disables the other options and requires a Fixed Workpiece Name.

    • The VIN / Barcode option starts a workpiece that has an ID that matches the VIN selected on the controller.

    • The Batch number matches workpieces id option starts a workpiece that has a ID that matches the batch ID selected on the controller.

    • The Pset number matches workpieces id option starts a workpiece that has a ID that matches the Pset ID selected on the controller.

    • The Position selects workpiece option is only used for API tools.

    • The New workpiece finishes the current option finishes the process for the ongoing workpiece first if a new workpiece is selected.

  4. In the Parameters tab select more advanced options.

    • The Deactivate Resent Barcode option prevents the barcode and VIN from being sent back to the controller when ILG receives a change.

    • The Input Group field specifies the input group that holds the parameter set information when the Position Selection Method in the Workplace tab is set to External-Monitored-Selected and Input groups are specified on the Tools page, in the Tool tab.

    • The Skip position on batch increment option, when selected, skips the current bolt position when a batch is incremented on a controller.

    • The Perform ILS Target Visibility Check option, when selected, checks for visible targets when a workpiece is started. One status message is sent per configured target.

    • The Batch counter enables position option, when selected, shows which bolt is enabled depending on the batch counter that is currently in use. This option can only be used for workplaces where the Position Selection Method is Batch-Selected. To use this option with a workpiece, enter the Pset number for each bolt in the order that they should be tightened. For example, Bolt 1 should be assigned Pset 1 and Bolt 2 should be assigned Pset 2. Then, run the workpiece in free order. Only one Pset can be used per batch, but there is no limit on the number of times that a Pset can be run.

We recommend the following settings when using Batch counter enables position:

In ILG > Tightening Positions > Workpiece > Workpiece

      • Loosening: Forbidden

      • Bypass a NOK: true

Batch sequence settings on a controller

      • Increment on NOK: Yes

      • Decrement on OK loosening: Never

      • Lock tool on batch sequence compl.: On

    • The Positioning only option does not save any results. It only enables/disables the tool. No feedback is obtained from the process results.

    • The Wait for home option waits for all the tools linked to the workplace to be in their home position before the workpiece is finished.

  5. In the HMI tab select the buttons and functions that should be visible in ILG.

  6. Select Save.
