Verifying Geometry
Use the Verify Geometry feature to optimize geometry that is entered in ILG. This is done by physically moving a tool that is registered in ILG. Then, ILG performs calculations and presents optimized geometry suggestions.
The Verify Geometry feature can only be used when ILG is connected to Industrial Location Arms or Industrial Location SpotPoint.
The feature requires physical access to a tool that is registered in ILG. The feature also requires physical access to the area where the tool is used.
Opening Verify Geometry in ILG
Log in to ILG.
In the ILG toolbar, select Mode and choose Setup.
Select Tools in the left-hand menu.
In the Tool menu, select the tool for which you want to optimize geometry.
Select the Geometry tab.
Select Verify.
The Verify Geometry window opens.
The window shows a real-time representation of the tool. For example, move the physical tool to see real-time movement in ILG.
The window contains three different views of the selected tool: the top view, the front view, and the right-side view. These views represent what has been entered in the model tab. For information on the model tab, see Model Tab.
Using Verify Geometry
Place the tool tip on a bolt.
To start Verify Geometry, press the tool trigger or select START in ILG.
Rotate the tool slowly around the bolt while the tool tip is still placed on the bolt.
After a couple of seconds, press the tool trigger again or select STOP in ILG.
Place the tool on another bolt.
Rotate the tool slowly around the bolt while the tool tip is still placed on the bolt.
Press the tool trigger or select START in ILG.
After a couple of seconds, press the tool trigger again or select STOP in ILG.
Repeat steps 4–6 for other bolts in the geometry.

It is not mandatory to repeat steps 4–6 for all bolts. The more bolts that are included, the higher the results quality will be.
When STOP is selected for the last time, select OPTIMIZE.
ILG starts the optimization process and a visual indication says CALCULATING when the process is running.
When the calculation is complete, select SHOW RESULTS.
A list of optimization improvements appears.

Atlas Copco carefully develops the algorithm that is used to verify geometry data. Optimization results might not always be correct due to different factors. It is recommended to manually verify optimization suggestions before accepting them.
Review the optimization suggestions.
To recalculate one or more coordinates, select the coordinates and then select RECALCULATE.
To accept one or more optimization suggestions, select the coordinates and then select ACCEPT.
Close the window.

Select the Sensors and Geometry tabs to verify the changes that were made.
