Brake disc wear inspection (CBUL)

Required tools

  • Allen keys or bits 4-10 mm

  • Screw bits and sockets

  • Torx® keys or bits T6-T25

  • Torque wrench

  • Lifting device

  • Screwdrivers

  • Pliers

  • Bearing puller (optional)

  • Feeler gauge

Measurement of the brake disc
  1. Remove the screws (4x) holding the inspection covers.

  2. Disassemble the inspection covers (2x).

  3. Clean the brake disc gap with compressed air.

Blow gently from both sides with an air gun to remove dust from brake disc surface. Use a vacuum cleaner on the opposite side to collect brake dust when cleaning the brake disc. The brake dust is very dirty and precautions should be taken to prevent dust from spreading.

  4. Measure the brake disc gap with a feeler gauge, both sides.

Brake disc gap is measured with brake ON (24V applied to brake circuit).

If the brake disc gap is more than max or less than min adjustment of the brake gap is required.

Write down the adjustment values.
