Performing a tool swap operation
In order to successfully perform a tool swap operation, a Tool Swap license must be activated.
Only roles with tool swap rights can perform a tool swap operation.
For more information on how to manage roles, refer to Roles.
On the left-side menu bar, click Tool Swap.
On the upper-right corner of the Tool Swap workspace, click New.
In the New Tool Swap Operation dialog box, configure the new tool swap operation parameters.

On the upper-right corner of the New Tool Swap Operation dialog box, click Check to run a preliminary validation of the tool swap.
The Tool Swap Operation Preview dialog box displays a report of the preliminary validation, showing the compatibility of joints and inspections to be linked to the replacement tool.
In their respective list, joints and/or inspections that are not compatible with the replacement tool are highlighted with a red bar and matched with an error message.
If the error message is not fully visible, click on the respective raw and the full text will be displayed under the relevant list.If you wish to continue with the tool swap operation, click Proceed on the upper-right corner of the Tool Swap Operation Preview dialog box.

If the tool swap preliminary validation detected incompatibilities, a dedicated Tool swap operation confirmation dialog box is displayed, showing the following warning message:
Some incompatibilities have been detected for the ongoing tool swap, do you want to proceed?
Click Yes to proceed.In the Tool swap operation confirmation dialog box, the following items are displayed:
Status message: message informing on the current status of the replacement tool. Depending on the replacement tool status, the following messages are displayed:
There are no inspections defined on the replacement tool.
All inspections defined on the replacement tool are OK and not expired.
All inspections defined on the replacement tool are OK but at least one of them is expired.
There are not NOK results for the inspections defined on the replacement tool but at least one of them has never been run.
All inspections defined on the replacement tool are NOK.
At least one inspection defined on the replacement tool is NOK.
There are no results for the inspections defined on the replacement tool.
Unable to determine the current status. Please check manually.
Inspection to RUN: in the drop-down list, select the inspection to send to the replacement tool.

To be able to select an inspection to RUN, the user must first define a measuring device in its personal settings. For further information, refer to Viewing/editing personal settings.
Comment: in the box you can leave a comment relevant to the tool swap operation.
Click Confirm to complete the tool swap operation.
