Licensing
The trial period for Smart AMS is 60 days. The number of days remaining for the trial period is shown at the top of the Smart AMS Config page. Sample address of the Smart AMS Config page: https://localhost:6395. Make sure to replace localhost with the actual IP address of the computer Smart AMS Config is running on.
After the trial period expires, the Trial license has expired message will be shown.
During the trial period, no more than 25 spindle connections with tools manufactured by Atlas Copco and up to 10 spindle connections with tools by other manufacturers can be used within the same configuration if you want to push it to the server. To continue using Smart AMS beyond the trial period or to connect more spindles, you will need the corresponding licenses.
If the number of Atlas Copco tools in a configuration exceeds the number of Atlas Copco tool licenses, third-party tool licenses can be used, if available. Third-party tools can only use specific third-party tool licenses. If a sufficient number of licenses is not available, the Unlicensed mode message will be shown at the top of the Smart AMS Config page.
No license is required to create, save, edit, export or import a configuration. However, configurations can only be pushed to the server if you have sufficient licenses.
A customer account is created on the Atlas Copco customer license portal at https://atlascopco.flexnetoperations.com/control/atco/login when Smart AMS is purchased.
Error Proofing License Manager, which is compatible with Smart AMS, helps you organize your licenses with a single dashboard. The licenses are stored on the client side on a computer with the FlexNet License Server service running in the background. The computer must be accessible from the computers on which Smart AMS is running.
Tool licenses are acquired on the SAMS service startup. When the SAMS service in Windows is stopped, the tool licenses are released.
