On the left-side menu bar, click Main Data > Controller units.

Command buttons

The Controller units workspace is divided into the following columns:

  • Name: name of the controller.

  • Model: model of the controller.

  • Serial number: serial number of the controller.

  • Identifier: custom identification code linked to the current controller.

  • Location: area of the plant where using the controller.

  • Status: below are the available options, depending on the status of the controller:

    • In use: the controller is ready to work on the production applications.

    • Service/Repair: the controller cannot be used on the assembly line before maintenance is complete. The capability of the controller is verified according to customer’s procedures.

    • Scrapped/Disabled: the controller is out of order. Do not use it on the assembly line.

  • Supplier: supplier of the controller.

In the Controller units workspace, click a controller to display the related Controller Unit Details card.

On the upper-right corner of the Controller Unit Details card, click the Close button to exit the Controller Unit Details card (without saving any change).

At the end of the Controller Unit Details card, the following items record all of the changes made for the selected controller:

  • Version: version of the controller configuration.

    In the Edit Controller Unit dialog box, change one of the following items to make a new version: Controller unit, Serial number, Identifier, Location, Location history, and Status.

  • Changed by: name of the operator who has made a change to the controller configuration.

  • History: the history table records all of the changes made for the selected controller.

    The first line of the history table summarizes the latest version of the controller configuration.

    Click a previous line: the related Controller Unit Details card opens on the left of the Controller Unit Details card related to the latest version.

    The differences between the two Controller Unit Details cards are yellow highlighted.

    On the upper-right corner of the oldest Controller Unit Details card, click Restore: the previous version of the controller unit configuration becomes the latest one.

On the upper-right corner of the Controller units workspace, there are the following command buttons:

  • Add: click to add a new controller into the Controller units workspace.

  • Filter: click to give filters and list only the necessary controller(s).

  • Location Filter: click to filter the controller(s) depending on its location in the factory structure.
