Before Installation
The following preparations are needed prior to installation:
If a previous version of ToolsControl is installed on the server, perform an upgrade. Otherwise, perform a new installation. Note that a new installation on a PC/server will erase any installed software and stored data on it.
Make sure that the PC/server or computer that are to run complies with the hardware requirements.
Plan the installation activities and select the appropriate installation type.
Network connection and networking settings (the following tables) are available.
License registration for the new server is available.
Network settings
Ensure the following network setting parameters are available.
Static IP addresses used, one for each node. A ToolsControl deployment can be single node (a single VM or machine) or a cluster of VMs for high availability with failover functionality. If deploying a cluster, it must have an odd number of nodes. Valid sizes are 1, 3, 5, etc.
