Before drilling operation

Crushing Hazard

Do not operate the tool if the indexer is not properly locked! An unlocked tool may cause the complete tool to rotate and cause severe property damage and bodily injury.

  • Make sure that the lock pin is flush to the nut surface with a tolerance level of less than 0.3mm above the surface.

Keep a safe distance from the tool during operation. A rotating tool can cause severe bodily injury.

  • Make sure no body parts are near the tool during operation.

Following conditions apply prior to operating the drill:

  • Front part locked in the fixture.

  • Air hose connects to the drill.

Test the emergency stop button as follows:
  1. Push the start button.

  2. Push the emergency stop button so that it locks in position. The spindle must stop immediately.

  3. Pull the emergency stop button to reset it. The motor must not restart.

  4. Disconnect the air hose.

  5. Reconnect the air hose.

Perform the following before drilling operation:
  1. Lock the tool in the jig.

  2. Release the indexer to adjust the position of the tool by pushing in the button on the indexer.

  3. Release the button on the indexer to lock in position.

  4. Check that the lock pin on the indexer is level to the nut surface.

  5. Rock the tool from side to side to confirm the tool being locked in position.
