Checking Cable Connections

To verify that the cables are connected correctly, do the following:

  1. Start the system and make sure that all controllers are ready to run.

  2. Measure the resistance between the EM NC1, on the sync reference or on the controller closest to the sync reference, and the EM NC1 on the next controller, using a multimeter.

  3. Replace the cable if there is a connection between EM NC1 and EM NC1 when the controllers are running. The wrong type of cable is being used.

  4. Repeat step 2-3 on all interconnected controllers.

  5. Measure the resistance between the EM NC1, on the sync reference or on the controller closest to the sync reference, and the EM NC2 on the next controller, using a multimeter.

  6. Turn the cable around and connect to the port on the opposite controller, if there is a connection between EM NC1 and EM NC2 when the controllers are running.

  7. Repeat step 5-6 on all interconnected controllers.
