Installation
Installation Requirements
Overheating
Operating at high torque on soft joints with short cycle time can cause overheating and shorten the life of the tool. Contact your local Atlas Copco sales representative if you need help with simulations or calculations before selecting model and size of the tool. Please provide the following information for a heat calculation:
Target torque (Nm) - Speed during the rundown and during the tightening (RPM).
Rundown angle in revolutions or degrees.
Tightening angle in degrees.
Cycle time - Seconds between the start of each tightening, or tightenings per hour.
Compression Spring
If several compression springs are delivered with the tool, the strongest spring is installed in the front part of the tool. Any additional springs are delivered unassembled.
Side Force
Side force can occur if:
A multiple, with two or more fixtured tools, is not fixed relative to the assembly object.
A single tool is used with a reaction bar to handle the reaction torque.
If the tool(s) and the assembly object are locked in their respective fixtures, there will be no or low force.
If the socket holder of the tool is exposed to side force, make sure that all ingoing parts can handle the side force. Contact your local Atlas Copco customer center if you need help confirming that all components can handle the side force.
Clamping
No clamping is allowed on the transducer, the gear unit or the motor unit. Use only the designated holes for clamping, marked on the dimensional drawing.
Motor connector
The motor connector is rotatable ± 150 degrees along two axes.
Installation Instructions
Initial Considerations
This tool is intended for use as a machine or machinery component. The responsibility for handling, installation and use of this product lies with the MTB (Machine Tool Builder) and the end-user.
The MTB or site responsible must always perform a risk assessment according to ISO 13849-1, to determine the required performance level for the complete installation.
The installation, operation and service of this tool must only be done by qualified personnel.
Installation Overview
This tool can be installed by using the front screw holes. See the dimensional drawings on ServAid for installation dimensions.
